Live at Katina's January 1990
Playing a 1971 Gibson SG Deluxe
At present, hoping people take interest in the music i've put to tape (mostly 4-track cassette) and assembled as records, going back to 1987, so about 25 years of recording. Been home recording since 1980, performing since 1983. guitar player, songwriter, drummer. Some people know me from Sebadoh, an indie rock group i started at my garage back in 1988/89 as songwriter and guitar player (acoustic open drone tuning and 1971 Gibson SG Deluxe w. Peavey 'Deuce' amp, MXR Distortion + (1970's) & Mu-Tron Phasor II. I was in other bands before Sebadoh... hardcore bands i started or joined... which i wrote songs for and either drummed for or sang for; Grey Matter, No Preservatives, including performing at high school dances ( e.g. = i sang for No Preservatives opening for 7 Seconds at a high school dance back in 1984.)
The project i was doing just before Sebadoh was =

REVIEW OF UNCHARTED WATERS (INDIEVILLE)
The Freed Man review, STYLUS
"Eric did the home-recording gig, too, but his songs were nebulous, confrontational vehicles loaded with inchoate imagery involving plants, bodies of water, natural disasters, mold, colors, and religious themes. His voice vacillated from dog-whistle whine to velvet baritone. Eric clawed at his guitar, pulling notes from its neck and stomping them silent with filthy, bare feet. Invasive elements were held close; Eric prided himself on song sabotage, overloading miniature pieces with tape loops, strange sound effects and over-dubbed tonal barf. It all worked wondrously, deserving a de rigeur sub-genre tag years before its time: “apocalyptic folk.”

FAN LETTERS... REVIEWS.. INTERVIEWS... Fan Letter: Thanks for sending me the thank-you email. I had no idea you were on Bandcamp. I saw your albums yesterday and said "No way!" and immediately bought one. I was actually thinking about buying all of them at once in case they got taken down or something. I'm probably going to enjoy Face of Man for a bit and buy more. I'm glad to see you're still making and releasing music on your own. I'm always impressed by your songs. Really digging Face of Man and downloaded a few tracks from Pope Pious Piecake The 9th, equally great.I'm baffled how people aren't banging on your door asking you to record an album for them. If you keep showing the interest, though, someone's sure to ask you. Hope all is well in your world. Never stop making music. You are a god among rock gods. -Matt
